Back to workshops

A two-part spring workshop in oil painting (gouache possible outdoors). First, set up your easel and paint from life in the gardens of the Domaine and the surrounding countryside: observe and capture light, color and atmosphere.
Olivier shares his methods for working quickly and efficiently on site: choice of subject, framing, composition, values and colors, with photos, notes and sketches gathered for the studio.
Then, in the studio, translate this experience onto a large canvas (81 × 60 cm): build a composition, step away from the motif and move toward a more personal painting, enriched with glazes and impasto.
